Andres’ Biography

Andres, a Harrison, NY native with Colombian heritage, now resides in Scarsdale with his wife and son. From a young age, his mother nurtured his appreciation for art by taking him to museums in New York City. As he grew older, his artistic curiosity expanded beyond traditional galleries—he became captivated by the graffiti that adorned the city streets.

Despite his passion for art, Andres was often discouraged by the “starving artist” stereotype echoed by teachers and mentors. Seeking a more conventional path, he pursued a degree in Graphic Design, earning a BFA from Manhattanville College. However, finding stable work in the field proved challenging, and over time, he began to set aside his artistic aspirations, focusing instead on various jobs to support himself. Still, he never completely let go of his love for drawing, seizing moments of inspiration whenever they arose.

In 2020, amidst the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Andres had a realization—he was unfulfilled in his current career and needed to take one final shot at his lifelong dream of becoming a professional artist. During his nightly walks, he often passed Killer Silver Tattoo Studio, where a hiring sign caught his attention. Reflecting on his long-standing admiration for tattoos and their ability to tell deeply personal stories, he saw tattooing as the perfect fusion of his artistic background and his love for graffiti. The idea of having his artwork live on people’s skin permanently was the ultimate evolution of his creative journey.

Now, under the guidance of Caesar, Andres is honing his craft as a tattoo apprentice, dedicated to learning the art form and bringing meaningful designs to life as a tattoo apprentice in the Killer Silver Tattoo crew.

Now, Andres is looking for guinea pigs to build up her portfolio on tip-based compensation.
